Mario Kart Tour kills gacha, introduces a battle mode, and adds new features.

The Nintendo mobile game Mario Kart Tour is soon to become a full-fledged video game. After more than a year of complaints, the game's money-hungry gacha elements will be removed in a new update.

While the free-to-play gacha elements in Fire Emblem Heroes have earned more than $1 billion, Nintendo's other mobile games have suffered. With the cancellation of Dragalia Lost, Nintendo appears to be shifting away from reliance on gacha systems.

The current gacha system in Mario Kart Tour will be removed, according to a tweet. Players will no longer be able to spend rubies to summon characters through pipes in the contentious racing game.

However, Tour is fundamentally a free-to-play game. Yes, the gacha elements have vanished. However, you will still need to spend premium currency to unlock kart parts such as gliders and other accessories.

One of the tour's distinguishing features was the large number of playable characters. With the removal of gacha, all characters will be playable, potentially bringing in more players. Will you re-enter?

In addition to the removal of the gacha systems, Mario Kart Tour will receive one of the series' most popular modes. You'll be able to play an online battle mode on mobile in the upcoming update!

The new update's release date has not been announced. However, we do know that it will be released in September. So buckle your seatbelts!

With this massive update, Tour is finally becoming the karting game it was always meant to be. While some may be put off by the mobile title, it's a massive, impressive Mario Kart experience on phones.

What do you think of this new version? Has it reignited your Mario Kart obsession? What? We are not addicted! Shush!
